Analyzing Raman spectral data without separabiliy assumption

چکیده

Abstract Raman spectroscopy is a well established tool for the analysis of vibration spectra, which then allow determination individual substances in chemical sample, or their phase transitions. In time-resolved-Raman-sprectroscopy spectra sample are recorded sequentially over time interval, such that conclusions intermediate products (transients) can be drawn within process. The observed data-matrix M from regarded as matrix product two unknown matrices W and H , where first representing contribution latter represents spectra. One approach obtaining non-negative factorization. We propose novel approach, does not need commonly used separability assumption. performance this shown on real world example.

Spectral representation--analyzing single-unit activity in extracellularly recorded neuronal data without spike sorting.

One step in the conventional analysis of extracellularly recorded neuronal data is spike sorting, which separates electrical signal into action potentials from different neurons. Because spike sorting involves human judgment, it can be subjective and time intensive, particularly for large sets of neurons. Here we propose a simple, automated way to construct alternative representations of neuron...

Multiplicative panel data models without the strict exogeneity assumption

This paper studies estimation of multiplicative, unobserved components panel data models without imposing the strict exogeneity assumption on the explanatory variables. The method of moments estimators proposed have significant robustness properties; they require only a conditional mean assumption, and apply to models with lagged dependent variables, finite distributed lag models that allow arb...

Common Raman Spectral Markers among Different Tissues for Cancer Detection

Introduction Raman spectroscopy is a vibrational spectroscopic technique, based on inelastic scattering of monochromatic light. This technique can provide valuable information about biomolecular changes, associated with neoplastic transformation. The purpose of this study was to find Raman spectral markers for distinguishing normal samples from cancerous ones in different tissues. Materials and...

Raman Spectral Data De-noising based on Wavelet Analysis

Nowadays, most analytical instruments in modern laboratories are computerized, partly owing to the rapid development of advanced micro-electronic technology. Digitalized spectroscopic data can be exported from these instruments very easily for subsequent signal processing. Raman Spectroscopy is widely recognized as powerful, non-destructive techniques for characterizing materials. The key to re...

A Spectral Visualization System for Analyzing Financial Time Series Data

Visual data analysis of time related data sets has attracted much research interest recently, and a number of sophisticated visualization methods have been proposed in the past. In financial analysis, however, the most important and most common visualization techniques for time series data is the traditional lineor bar chart. Although these are intuitive and make it easy to spot the effect of k...
